Sadly, we will be closing Wingocard on May 18, 2022. After May 18, 2022, your Wingocard account will be closed and no longer available for use. This includes access to the app and spending on your card.
If you have a balance after your account is closed, you will be mailed a check 14 days after account closure. A check for remaining Parent and Teen account balances will be issued in the parent’s name.
No, as of April 18, 2022 you won’t be able to add more funds into your Wingocard account.
Since direct deposits are typically scheduled payments, this is important to action right away. Ask your employer to remove your Wingocard account details and provide them with direct deposit info for another bank account in place of Wingocard.
If you have auto deposits enabled from your other bank account, you will need to cancel any upcoming transfers and remove Wingocard from your bank.
You can continue to use your physical and digital Wingocard card until May 18, 2022. This includes transactions at merchants (yes, gift cards count!) and withdrawing funds from an ATM (charges apply). Purchasing gift cards (i.e. Amazon gift cards) is a way to move your funds off Wingocard and hold onto your money until you need to buy something.
If you have a balance after May 18, 2022, a check will be sent to you 14 days after your account is closed.
Yes, you will be able to transfer funds to yourself through ACH, as long as you have completed identity verification. You can find your account and routing number in the app under Settings → Direct Deposit.
Any funds that have not been spent after your account is closed will be mailed to you via check.
If your card has already been issued, it will arrive within 14 days. Once you receive your card, you can use it until May 18, 2022. While you’re waiting for the physical card, you can continue to use your digital.
If you receive your physical card after May 18, 2022, you can destroy the card by shredding or cutting it up, including the chip, before you discard it.
Before May 18, 2022, reach out to us at [email protected] Please include a piece of ID in PDF form that shows your name and new address (utility bill, bank statement, etc).
The check will be issued 14 days after the account closure on May 18, 2022. This is to account for any transactions that settle after your account is closed.
The check will be issued under the parent’s name. The total amount for the remaining balance for the parent and teen(s) account will be combined into a single check.
