Wingocard will be closing on May 18, 2022

A little bit over 2 years ago, we embarked on a mission to build the best banking experience for teens and families while empowering teens to become smart with their money. We are extremely proud of what our small team has achieved in so little time. Over that period we had the privilege to interact with thousands of teens and parents to better understand their needs. You were unanimous, financial education is important and it’s clearly lacking today.

Unfortunately, it’s with great sadness we inform you that we will not be able to continue this journey. We will be shutting down our current operations as of May 18, 2022.

What does this mean for you?

Starting April 18, 2022,

1. Parents will not be able to add money to their Wingocard account.
2. If you have ACH deposit enabled with your employer or any external bank account, please replace Wingocard with another bank account.
3. You have until May 18, 2022 to spend the money currently in your account balance.
4. You can also pull money out into another bank account through ACH. You can find your account and routing number in the app under Settings → Direct Deposit.
5. All referral rewards that are in Pending or Eligible state will be invalidated.
6. Save your transaction history in the app as you will no longer have access to the app after shutdown. Refer FAQs.

After May 18, 2022,

1. You will not be able to use your physical or virtual Wingocard for any purchases.
2. The iOS app will shut down and you won’t be able to access your account.
3. Any balance remaining in your account after May 18, 2022 will be sent over to you as a check payment.
